Our Core Services

We offer three integrated service streams — all delivered by accredited professionals operating within South Africa's regulatory framework.

🏗️

Asbestos Removal & Disposal

Type 2 & 3 Accredited · DEL Registered

What It Is

Asbestos removal and disposal is the controlled, legally compliant process of identifying, containing, removing and disposing of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) from buildings, infrastructure and industrial sites. Our accredited teams handle the full scope: site inspection, asbestos survey, abatement plan drafting, DEL notification, safe wet-removal, double-bagging and certified transportation to approved hazardous waste disposal facilities.

Why It Matters

When asbestos-containing materials are disturbed or demolished without proper controls, microscopic fibres are released into the air. These fibres — once inhaled — lodge permanently in lung tissue. Diseases including asbestosis, mesothelioma and lung cancer can take 20–40 years to develop and are currently incurable. South African law mandates that all asbestos work must be performed by a DEL-registered contractor.

Risks of Unaccredited Providers

  • Uncontrolled fibre release puts workers and the public at life-threatening risk
  • Illegal disposal carries heavy criminal and civil penalties under the OHS Act and NEMA
  • No clearance certificate means the property owner remains legally liable
  • Insurance and property transactions can be invalidated without compliant records
  • DEL inspectors can issue stop-work orders, fines and prosecution

Our Process Includes

  • Asbestos inspection & bulk sampling
  • Detailed abatement plan of work
  • DEL notification & regulatory compliance
  • Controlled wet removal with full PPE
  • Certified hazardous waste transport & disposal
  • Clearance air monitoring & clearance certificate

OHS Consulting

Full Regulatory Compliance Support

What It Is

OHS Consulting is the professional service of advising, implementing and managing occupational health and safety systems within an organisation. In South Africa, the OHS Act 85 of 1993 places a legal obligation on every employer to provide and maintain a safe working environment. Our consultants build, implement and maintain the systems that protect your people and your business.

Why It Matters

South Africa's construction, mining, manufacturing and public sectors are among the most heavily regulated environments in Africa. The OHS Act requires employers to appoint legal representatives, maintain site files, conduct risk assessments, investigate incidents and ensure all workers are protected. Failure exposes management to personal criminal liability under Section 37 of the Act.

Risks Without OHS Consulting

  • Section 37 holds management personally liable for workplace injuries and fatalities
  • Non-compliant site files disqualify bids and result in tender exclusions
  • DEL inspections can result in prohibition notices and operational shutdowns
  • Workplace injuries without documentation expose employers to COIDA non-compliance
  • Reputational damage and loss of public or private sector contracts

Our Consulting Services Include

  • OHS legal compliance audits
  • Risk assessments and hazard identification (HIRA)
  • Site file compilation and management
  • OHS management system development
  • Section 16(2) representative appointments
  • Incident investigation and reporting
  • DEL inspection preparation and support

OHS Training

Accredited Safety Training Programmes

What It Is

OHS Training refers to structured, accredited programmes designed to equip workers, supervisors and management with the knowledge and skills to operate safely within their working environments. The OHS Act requires that all employees be properly trained on hazards relevant to their work. Our training is delivered by experienced OHS professionals covering both theory and hands-on application.

Why It Matters

Untrained workers are the single biggest source of workplace incidents, injuries and fatalities in South Africa. The Construction Regulations, Asbestos Abatement Regulations and General Safety Regulations all require documented, verified training for specific roles and tasks. A well-trained workforce reduces costs, downtime and reputational risk over the long term.

Risks of Inadequate Training

  • Untrained workers performing hazardous tasks is a criminal offence under the OHS Act
  • Workplace accidents from inadequate training expose management to prosecution
  • COIDA claims and civil lawsuits increase without documented training records
  • Asbestos work by untrained personnel creates irreversible health consequences
  • Public and private sector tenders now mandate SETA-accredited training certificates

Training Programmes We Offer

  • Asbestos Awareness Training (Regulation 7)
  • Asbestos Abatement Worker Training (Type 1, 2 & 3)
  • First Aid Levels 1, 2 & 3
  • Fire Fighting & Emergency Response
  • Working at Heights & Fall Protection
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA)
  • Construction Safety (CR2014)
